Diamonds may be a girl’s best friend, but gold is definitely a close second. Especially if it’s real gold. A nice piece of gold jewellery can already make my heart skip a beat, but today I’m risking total cardiac arrest by going all out and decorating my nails with 22 carat gold. Say what now? Yep, with the Tomb of Djer Treasure Top Coat by What The Flock. Have a look!

What The Flock

What The Flock is an online web shop that specializes in nail and nail art products. They sell all the basic stuff like nail polish, fake nails and top coats but also anything you could ever need for the most creative nail art creations, from glitter, beads and velvet to nail stickers, sequins, feathers and much more. My nail art skills are pretty limited, but I do like to play around with fun nail polishes and special top coats. Today I am showing you five nail lacquers from the What The Flock web shop, and of course the Tomb of Djer Treasure Top Coat that I bet you’re dying to see after my little teaser intro!

from left to right: Rock Chick – Passion – Brick House – Plum – Hot Pink

I got five shades of nail polish from What The Flock: Rock Chick (semi-matte black), Hot Pink (trendy neon pink), Brick House (matte warm yellow), Plum (glossy bright blue) and Passion (shiny warm purple). All five nail lacquers have great coverage and one coat already gives a perfectly opaque result. They are all easy to apply and they dry very quickly. Nothing but pros!

Tomb of Djer Treasure Top Coat

What The Flock’s Tomb of Djer Treasure Top Coat is a special effect top coat with real gold in it. Well hello gorgeous! The top coat already looks super pretty in the bottle, and on the nails the effect is just incredible! It really makes my heart race. Gold rush, I guess ;-)

Applying the Tomb of Djer Treasure Top Coat is a completely dummy-proof process. Choosing where the gold flecks go is virtually impossible (or at least very difficult) so you just have to wait and see what the end result will be. But it will alway looks good, no matter what you do. You basically just ‘go ahead and paint’. So like I said: totally dummy-proof and therefore even doable for complete nail art noobs.

One coat of the Tomb of Djer Treasure Top Coat already looks pretty cool, but the more you layer it the more gold flecks you get on your nails. I personally like the effect after three coats the best. I am a fan, this top coat is definitely a new favorite!

All products are available in the What The Flock web shop. The nail lacquers are all 4 euros each, and the Tomb of Djer Treasure Top Coat will set you back 15 euros for 15 ml. The smaller 5 ml version costs 7,50 euros.

What do you think of the Tomb of Djer Treasure Top Coat? And which of the five nail lacquers do you like best?

  1. wow! love the golden sprinkles :) i def. like the pink color, but the black with the golden sprinkles looks amazing! last year i bought a golden nailpolish from opi (golden eye – from the skyfall collection) which looks pretty fab too – you should try it :) it’s not “real” gold but looks like a million bucks haha :D

  2. Oh, that Treasure top coat looks perfect!! And I agree, the more the better.:) I’d love to have something similar in silver. I’m just fed up wit those regular square glitter flakes. But why is the blue one called Plum???:D I’d get sky or ocean or river but PLUM?

  3. So, I actually really wanted something like this when they started coming out late last year! I really like how it looks over the black and the teal!

  4. Wow, those polishes by themselves are gorgeous, I love the plum!! And that top coat is stunning. Very luxe. And they all look amazing on your nails!

  5. Wow, they look amazing! I’m gonna get myself some Tomb of Djer, since the OPI gold flake topcoat was a little pricey for me, but it’s so pretty.. I can’t choose between all the pretty colors, but I do like the effect of Hot Pink with Tomb of Djer a lot!

  6. Wow, I’m not sure I would ever use the topcoat, I would always be waiting for the right occasion that never comes, like when a royalty comes for tea. ;) I really like the purple one and the pink one.

    • Any occasion is the right occasion! Meeting friends. Celebrating the weekend. Walking your dog. Doing the dishes. Sitting around in the house all day doing absolutely nothing… ;-)

  9. There is just something about those five colors together that makes me very very happy. Like lemonade with blueberries and running in green grass and going swimming. Just so punchy.
