I am definitely a summer person. July and August are my favorite months and you will never hear me complain about tropical temperatures. Forget autumn, if it were up to me I would make summer last 365 days a year. But I do have to admit that every year there are make-up collections that make me look forward to the fall season a bit. Like Sisley’s new fall and winter collection for example. In the City Muse collection for the fall and winter of 2013 we see an elegant ultra feminine look with an international city vibe. That means intense black, deep blue, silver and violet on the eyes, and pink and plum hues on the lips. And the skin? Next season we keep our complexion very clean and pure with subtle highlights and a soft pink flush. I bet you are wondering what that looks like, huh? Well, today is your lucky day because I am reviewing the new Sisley L’Orchidée Rose Highlighter Blush, the 2.0 version of last year’s L’Orchidée Highlighter Blush. And I suggest you sit down, because you will fall off your chair when you see this beauty.
I told you so! What a gem this is! The packaging alone is enough to make me drool like a dog eyeing a big fat hamburger. And I haven’t even shown you the inside. Ready?
Sigh, this makes me weak to my knees. Look at that lovely flower print, it’s so pretty. As you can see, the blush has three colors. Matte pale pink, matte bright pink, and dirty pink with tiny white specks and a bit of shimmer. Together these three create a gorgeous soft effect on the skin. I usually wear brighter blushes, but that is about to change now because I lo-lo-love how the Sisley L’Orchidée Rose Highlighter Blush looks! As the name of the product says, it’s not just a blush but a highlighter blush, and that makes this product really special. The color is soft, sweet and it really captures the light, giving my skin a lovely natural glow in the process.
Oh and by the way, you can also use the highlight shade to highlight the inner corner of your eyes and your eyebrow bone, like I did here. Just grab a precision brush instead of a fluffy blush brush, et voilà.
The texture of the blush is silky soft and light. So no powdery effect. Good, because like I said this fall and winter it’s all about clean and natural-looking skin with a delicate hint of color and some subtle highlighting. The leaves can start falling, because I am in love. And I am pretty sure it’s more than just a summer fling. This is the till-death-do-us-part kind of love. Till-I-hit-the-bottom-of-the-pan kind of love.
The Sisley L’Orchidée Rose Highlighter Blush will be available in September and will cost 96 CHF.
Do you like this highlighter blush? Does it make you look forward to next season yet?
