Butter London Nail Lacquer in Silly Billy, Wellies, Lovely Jubbly, The Black Knight & Swinger

A lot of big international beauty brands are hard to find here in Switzerland. And trust me, you don’t want to order online from the US too often because the insane import taxes will kill you. That is why I am often searching the internet for Swiss and European beauty web shops that sell my favorite brands. A few weeks ago I discovered that there is an official Butter London online store in Germany. Happy dance! After a discovery like that you don’t just order one or two bottles of nail polish of course. I selected seven nail polishes, and last week I received my package. I am going to let the pictures speak for themselves, but one thing is certain: I want more! Have a look!

Silly Billy is a vibrant orange shade with a lovely glossy finish. It’s perfectly opaque in two coats and it lasts for days without chipping. The bright orange looks great against sun-kissed skin, but I also plan on brightening up the gray fall season with this fun and happy shade.

Wellies is a yellow green shade and is slightly neon. I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed with the color, because I expected it to be a lot brighter and more green. It’s also a bit uneven and streaky, and the final result just didn’t look the way I wanted it to.

Lovely Jubbly is a gorgeous pinkish purple glitter nail polish with blue and red sparkles. The glitter is very fine which makes the nail polish really easy to apply and it doesn’t have that typical gritty texture that a lot of glitter nail polishes have. The glitter concentration in the formula is really high and one coat is enough for a spectacular effect. My reaction when I first saw Lovely Jubbly on my nails? ‘Oh my god, it’s so pretty! Tom, TOM! You gotta come see this. Look, LOOK!’*

* Tom’s reaction: ‘Ah. Errr yes, that is very pretty.’ Men.

The Black Knight is a beautiful black glitter nail polish with blue, pink and silver glitter particles. Again the nail polish is a dream to apply, and the color is absolutely stunning. The combination of the dark background and the colorful glitter reminds me of a galaxy full of stars, so gorgeous.

Last but not least I want to show you Swinger, a bright grassy green glitter nail polish with green and silver glitter in it. The density of the glitter is really high and all the glitters are different sizes which creates a really cool effect. I am in love!

Underneath every nail polish I wore the Butter London Nail Foundation Flawless Basecoat and on top of them I applied the Butter London Hardwear Topcoat.

I think it’s pretty obvious: except for Wellies I am madly in love with all my new Butter London nail lacquers. The colors that I got are very unique and special, the quality of the nail polish is great, the coverage is really good, the application is easy and the finish is just lovely. What else could a nail polish lover want? That’s right, even more Butter London nail polishes! :-)

Silly Billy, Wellies, Lovely Jubbly, The Black Knight and Swinger are all available in the Butter London online store and cost 18 euro each. The Butter London base and top coat are both 23 euro.

Do you already have a Butter London nail polish in your stash? Which of these five colors do you like best?

  1. I’ve wondered about this brand for awhile. The purple glitter is perfect. It’s similar to the nail polish I had for my wedding last year… Totally reminds me that I should try purple glitter again soon

  2. I love Butter London. I think I have about 5. They’re quite pricey so I don’t have too much of them. My fave out of all your purchases is the Silly Billy:)

  3. Lovely Jubbly has to be my favorite! Thanks for the heads-up about the site! I know no German, but I can probably navigate in a webshop when I want to buy something LOL

  4. omggg so lucky! so many new butter nailpolishes! i’ve never tried butter nailpolishes before i always drool over them when i go to the mall haha. aww i’m bummed about the wellies color it looked like that perfect bright neon yellow limey green color in the bottle.. bummed it didn’t come out brighter :( but it still looks super cute on you!! all of the colors do!!

  5. Ahh, Lovely Jubbly looks wonderful – I’ve never really looked into that one before! How is the base coat? I do like that top coat – it’s very quick to dry and lasts quite a while!

  6. I really love to look at Butter London nail polishes as they often have really amazing colours but recently I read that some of their polishes contain bad stuff which they really shouldn´t and that they normally couldn´t be sold like that here in Europe :/
    xx

Merk = leuke naam. I like it :-)

  9. these nail polishes are gorgeous!! thanks for sharing your review on them. my fav is for sure black knight! look forward to trying these. xx. gigi.

  10. I have been eying this nail polishes for the longest time. I don’t own any yet but definitely soon.

I love the silly billy colour, not a big fan of glitter but it looks pretty.

  11. Wauw, heerlijk! I want one. :)

  12. I have only 2 so far and i love them, I have to get a few more (actually I shouldn’t but we will see lol), Swinger and Black knight look amazing, Black knight is on my wishlist long time now

  14. Great polishes!

I think I have one or two bottles of their polish :)

  15. Butter London has the most fabulous colors! These all look so pretty on you!
I’m a big fan of their nail foundation base coat and glitter polishes.

  16. I have Butter London’s navy, which is lovely, but stains the nails upon removal .. I actually really love the Wellies polish (and I am so not a neon polish lover). Maybe that’s why I like it though .. as you say, it’s not too bright.

  17. These shades are gorgeous. I can’t decide which I love more. The black knight….Drool!

  18. Lovely jubbly and swinger look so pretty! I love glitterful polishes like those!
That base coat also looks very nice and natural! Perfect for a french mani hehe =)

  20. I’m drooling over them all now! How cool they are! I know is a great brand but, shame on my, never had the chance to try:) My fav lacquer is The Black Knight, is so posh and love the effect!:) Happy weekend! Kisses! xo

  21. Lovely Jubbly is AMAZEBALLS!!!! I would have been shouting for Tom to come look, too! Silly Billy is my 2nd fave; looks SO good on your hands! I’m a big fan of the Nail Foundation! You can actually wear a coat of that all by itself and it’s a really pretty semi-nude beige shade. I love Butter London! So glad you found a place to order them where you’re not having to pay crazy high import taxes! XOXO
