Whether I am going out or not, I always put on make-up in the morning. I think it’s important to look your best every day. But it is just as important to take all that make-up off again at night. As a rebellious teen I sometimes slept in my make-up (bad teenage Melissa) but I have learned the importance of cleansing your skin every night. E-ve-ry night. No matter how tired, hurried, tipsy or whatever you are. I really can’t stress it enough: you always have to cleanse your skin, even if you are already half asleep (why do they play the best movies at 2AM?) or if the mirror suddenly looks like a mirror from a house of mirrors (damn those cocktails!). For the past few weeks I have been cleansing my skin in the morning and in the evening with the Safeas Olive Sensitive Cleansing Milk. Let’s have a closer look together.

Review (Safeas Olive Sensitive Cleansing Milk) (1)

The Olive Sensitive Cleansing Milk is a purifying milk from the German natural cosmetics brand Safeas. It deeply cleanses the skin without being aggressive. The formula with olive extract and jojoba oil nourishes and softens the skin, and gently cleanses it. According to Safeas even people with extremely sensitive or irritated skin can use the Olive Sensitive Cleansing Milk to remove dirt and make-up.

I personally always use make-up remover first to remove my eye and face make-up (yep, even my foundation) so that most of my make-up is already off before I really start to deep cleanse. If I don’t, then I will just create this kind of abstract painting with swirls of color everywhere on my face, and that doesn’t seem very efficient. So first eye make-up remover. And then I use the Safeas Olive Sensitive Cleansing Milk. I apply the milk with my fingers and massage it going in circles. And then I just take it all off with water, followed by a bit of toner to close my pores. That is my evening routine. My morning routine is a bit simpler. In the AM I just use the Safeas Olive Sensitive Cleansing Milk after washing my face with water and before applying moisturizer.

The texture of the Safeas Olive Sensitive Cleansing Milk is light and milky. The smell is very neutral and delicate. After cleansing my skin feels really clean and baby soft. And I know how that feels, because a couple of weeks ago we welcomed a cute little baby into the family (congratulations Nele and Bram) and I just couldn’t stop touching Mila’s super soft cheeks during the baby visit.

Bottom line? The Safeas Olive Sensitive Cleansing Milk is a very decent cleanser. It really gets the job done, and because of the all-natural ingredients in the product I would definitely recommend it.

The Safeas Olive Sensitive Cleansing Milk is available at Thetwistshop and costs 27.40 CHF.

How do you cleanse your skin? Do you ever sleep in your make-up?

  1. That sounds great! I’ve been using my Biotherm cleansing milk for about half a year now and love that soft milky substance. Now that I’m running out, I’ve started looking for replacements and this one sounds great! I’m all for never using irritating ingredients, whether your skin is sensitive or not, because no one should do that to their skin. It’s too bad they don’t ship to the Netherlands! Love your reviews by the way, they’re always so incredibly detailed!

  2. oh wow this seems like a good product; I’ve been using a cleansing cream but I am thinking to switching to a more liquid type of makeup remover like an oil or milk type since the cream type is not so ok on the eyes ;s

  4. Hey Melissa, I might have slept with my makeup once or twice in my life, but no more than that! This looks like something I’d enjoy! My go-to cleanser is from Pai. I can’t even remember how many bottles I’ve gone through, but I still love it!

  6. I dont usually sleep with make up only when i am like proper exhausted and just do not have the energy at all but that will be like once in a blue moon, so i am very good that way.

I have a very sensitive skin, so i tend to stay away from chemicals. But this one has jojoba and olive oil which are natural ingredients, i should probably give it a try.

  7. My skin is sooooo sensitive. So if I ever slept in my makeup I would wake up and have hives everywhere. I’ve been using noxema and I love it. I will definetly have to give this a try!

  9. I agree with you! No matter how tired or tipsy you are, your skin should always be clean at night. I am also the same way, I wear makeup even if I don’t go out (most of the times I find something to do because I look decent haha)

  11. You are so right, is a thing that always try to avoid knowing how much dangerous it is for the skin, even though when I am super tired I cleanse my skin. If happens not (especially the day after New Year’s Eve, always in that day every year!), I feel really so bad!:) The cleansing must be very good!:) Kisses! xo

  13. Goede review! Mij lijkt dit een super product! :) Fijn dat het zo zacht aanvoelt! Ik haal letterlijk altijd mijn make-up eraf.

  14. I’ve always wanted to try one of these kinds of face washes. My skin is super dry all the time, but especially in winter. I may need to rethink my product choices this year!

  16. omgggosh i need to try this!! i wear so much makeup.. but i really want a easier way off taking it off! hahahaha.. i’m so lazy.. i’m fairly meticulous about taking my makeup off but would like a way of making it more seamless and easier.. i’ve never tried cleansing milk before but this seems so neat!!

your comment is so sweet.. thank you so much!! comments like yours are one of the reasons i keep blogging :) heart!!

  18. Another great review Melissa! I always remove my makeup and then cleanse my face with a creamy foam packed with vitamins and avocado. I need specific products for acne prone skin but very gentle too. This sounds like a great product. Big hugs dear!

Ik slaap nooit met make – up! :)

    xoxo

  21. I literally only recently started paying attention to cleansing at night again, I used to be lazy and think hmmm if I don’t wear makeup I don’t have to cleanse, but now I do, this cleanser seems amazing. I love that its for sensitive skin.

  22. This cleanser sounds gentle yet effective. I would never go to bed without washing my face cause that’s one of the worst things for your skin.

  23. I agree it is important to look your best every day but I always take my makeup off at night! I think this cleansing milk looks really great! I have sensitive skin so this would be really great for me! Having clean skin when I go to bed is important to me!

  24. I used to sleep in my makeup all the time as a teenager (and oddly enough my skin was pretty clear!) but I haven’t done that in years and years! It’s always worth it to wash your face! I love any cleanser that makes your skin feel baby soft so this one sounds like a keeper!
