Bali Cosmetics review | Part II: skin and body care

In part I of my Bali Cosmetics review I already told you about two hair oils and a hand cream from Bali Cosmetics, and today it’s time to have a closer look at three skin and body products that I received. Ready for part II? Alrightie then, here we go!

Nacha Naturals Bali Moor Beauty Bar

When I found this strange round little thingie in my Bali Cosmetics package I honestly had no idea what it was. Luckily it came with a little note that explained the purpose of this alien-looking product. The Nacha Naturals Bali Moor Beauty Bar is a face soap with Moor clay that contains medicinal plants and herbs. It purifies and tones the skin and has anti-inflammatory and pore-tightening capacities. This makes the Moor Beauty Bar perfect for oily and impure skin like mine. You have to apply the soap on wet skin, massage it in and leave it on for about one and a half minute before rinsing it off with water. Those with very oily skin *raises hand* can leave it on a few extra minutes.

The smell of the Moor Beauty Bar is very pleasant. Or at least I think it is. It’s a very natural earthy smell, and I like that. It gives me that great I-am-so-in-touch-with-nature feeling. I use the soap in the morning after cleansing, and I notice that it keeps my skin oil-free for longer. I still have to reapply mattifying powder throughout the day to keep all the oil at bay, but my skin gets less shiny and I get the impression that my pores look a bit smaller too*. And I am also very happy with the anti-inflammatory capacities of the Moor Beauty Bar. I have been suffering from acne again a lot this past year, and anything that can suppress those nasty little spots can count on my enthusiasm.
* they are still way too big for my liking though, and if I could I’d go through life poreless.

Utama Spice Green Leaf Face Mask

Review (Bali Cosmetics part II) (2)

This face mask slash scrub promises to tone and rejuvenate the skin and to make it look radiant. The mask contains guava leaf that tightens the skin (hurray), vitamins A, B and C to rejuvenate it (double hurray) and Jack fruit and rice flower to fight acne (triple hurray). They already had me at tighten and rejuvenate, but the acne-fighting capacities of the mask really turn it into a winner for me. To my surprise there isn’t ready-made mask in the jar, but instead there’s a green powder inside that you need to mix with water into a paste. You apply the paste on your face, let it dry, and once it has dried up you can gently rub it off, scrubbing your skin in the process. And you can remove the last leftover bits with water.

Strange little mask, huh? It does get a bit messy, but it’s definitely worth a try. I use the mask once a week and my skin always feels soft and clean afterwards. Does my skin look super tight all of a sudden, do  I suddenly look ten years younger and is all my acne gone? Of course not, but that’s fine. I believe in maintaining healthy skin and in preventing rather than treating skin problems and skin aging. Products like this work, even if you don’t see any immediate dramatic changes. I can feel that this mask is doing my skin good, and I will definitely continue to use it.

Utama Spice Green Leaf Face & Body Butter

Review (Bali Cosmetics part II) (5)

I am a real body butter fan, and so I was delighted to find a body butter in my Bali Cosmetics package. This butter with anti-oxidants and essential oils is suitable for face and body, but with all the butter and oil in the formula I didn’t think it would a good idea to use it on my face. But that’s fine, because that way there’s more left to use on my body. The texture of the Utama Spice Green Leaf Face & Body Butter is thick and creamy, and the color is guacamole green. The smell is subtle and very natural. Applying body lotion after showering is one of my favorite beauty rituals, and so I really enjoy using this deliciously thick body butter. It’s such a mood booster! And the product also keeps my skin very happy, because it makes it nice and soft and keeps it moisturized around the clock.

  1. Something about that mask screams “Get Me.NOW” XD I’m loving the sound of the body butter too! I’m a sucker for natural skin and body care. You can easily pursuade me to buy some anytime. Oh and a sucker for cute packaging too ^^”

  7. I am liking the first two and i do love herbs and natural products. Acne is a major issue for me and it is quite bad at the moment. I have not heard of this brand but after reading your reviews, i feel i should try them. Fingers cross xx

I love your comments!
