To me, perfume is like my coat, my handbag or my keys: I can’t leave the house without it. So the last step in my morning routine is always spraying on a little perfume. Pshhht, a spritz in the back of my neck. Pshhht, a spritz in the front. And pshhht, a little cloud of perfume in front of me so I can walk through it all diva-like. The last few weeks I have been alternating mainly two fragrances – Fendi L’Acquarossa and DKNY Women Fall – but recently a third one entered the rotation: the new BVLGARI Omnia Crystalline eau de parfum. Time to have a little sniff together. Pshhht! *diva strut*
The new BVLGARI Omnia Crystalline eau de parfum is the richer, more luxurious version of the original BVLGARI Omnia Crystalline eau de toilette. It’s a romantic überfeminine fragrance that opens with lotus and mandarin, followed by iris root and vanilla and ending with the smell of sandalwood, benzoin and musk.
The BVLGARI Omnia Crystalline eau de parfum is a warm and complex fragrance that is at the same time floral, powdery and woody. That may sound a little overwhelming, but it really isn’t. The smell is very delicate and soft, and it’s very well balanced. Last year I had my fragrance profile analyzed at In Fine in Antwerp, and the results showed that powdery perfumes are the way to go for me. Yeah, powdery personalities for the win! When I tried the BVLGARI Omnia Crystalline eau de parfum for the first time I immediately noticed the powderiness of the scent, and maybe that’s why I like it so much.
And I also like the bottle a lot. The pretty rose gold color and the original shape of the bottle are quite special. That, and also a total pain in the butt to photograph: it took me 72 shots to finally take a decent picture. Every shot either showed my reflection or didn’t do justice to the beauty of the bottle. But after 72 clicks I finally got the hang of it and managed to get some nice shots.
The BVLGARI Omnia Crystalline eau de parfum definitely lingers. I don’t know if it’s me, my nose or something else, but 80% of perfumes seem to fade on me within the hour. I could spray myself with half a bottle of perfume, but 8 out of 10 times I still wouldn’t smell much. So either there is something seriously wrong with my sense of smell, or there are only certain types of perfumes that last on me. Whatever it is, the BVLGARI Omnia Crystalline eau de parfum really lingers, and when I undress for bed at night I can still smell the same delicate sensuality that I smelled in the morning right after that first spritz. Two thumbs up!
The BVLGARI Omnia Crystalline eau de parfum is available in 40 and 65 ml.
