Beep, beep, dupe alert! Have you ever tried Nuxe’s famous Huile Prodigieuse? Silly me, of course you have. And if not, then I’m sure you’ve heard or read about it. Everyone in beauty blogger land and beyond seems to love the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse, and I too belong to the cult of Huile Prodigieuse worshippers. I just love everything about the product! The luxurious texture, the way it makes my skin feel baby soft, and last but definitely not least the amazing smell. The only thing I don’t really like is the packaging. Pouring oil straight out of a bottle equals total spill fest equals no fun. But! I think I may have found an alternative for the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse, and this one comes in a more practical bottle. Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce to you the brand new Melvita L’Or Bio Extraordinary Oil!
The look of the new Melvita L’Or Bio Extraordinary Oil is a very similar to that of the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse. I emptied my last bottle of Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse months ago and I never photographed or reviewed it, so I’m afraid that I’m going to have to show you a picture from the Nuxe website to show you what the packaging looks like. The Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse comes in an lovely sturdy glass bottle with green and golden details and the oil itself has a pale yellowish gold color. And the exact same things can be said about the Melvita L’Or Bio Extraordinary Oil. The only difference is that the Melvita L’Or Bio Extraordinary Oil comes with a spray pump. And hallelujah for that, because now I can finally apply my body oil without leaving greasy oil stains everywhere, woohoo!
I used up my last bottle of Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse in May or June, but if my memory serves me right the Melvita L’Or Bio Extraordinary has the exact same texture as the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse. It’s a light-weight, slightly runny, fast-absorbing oil that doesn’t sit on the skin. So in other words it’s a dry oil. It takes just a few quick rubs, and poof, gone it is.
Ingredients & use
The Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse and the new Melvita L’Or Bio Extraordinary Oil are both multi-purpose products, because you can use both oils on your face, your body and your hair. The Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse contains 97.8% natural ingredients and contains six precious oils and a dose of vitamin E. The new Melvita L’Or Bio Extraordinary Oil also contains an arsenal of precious oils, and it’s 100% natural. It contains Moroccan Argan oil, Indonesian Kendi oil and Brazilian Inca Inchi oil that repair the skin, Brazilian Buriti oil that nourishes the skin and boosts radiance, and Brazilian Pracaxi oil to nourish and strengthen the hair.
I personally use the oil on my body instead of body lotion after showering or to soften my legs after shaving, and on my hands and nails. The Melvita L’Or Bio Extraordinary Oil makes my skin just as soft as the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse used to, and it also keeps my skin moisturized just as long. So not only look-wise but also result-wise the Melvita L’Or Bio Extraordinary Oil is a perfect dupe for the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse.
There is no doubt about it: the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse is one of the best-smelling beauty products l’ve ever used. I’m just so in love with its delicious smell! I didn’t think that the smell of the Melvita L’Or Bio Extraordinary Oil would be able to sweep me off my feet just as much, but I was wrong because it did! I know I’m sounding ridiculously enthusiastic and excited here, but the L’Or Bio Extraordinary Oil really smells AH-mazing! It smells different from the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse of course, and the scent is also a bit more delicate and subtle, but believe me when I say that it’s just as enchanting. All those precious oils really create a magical blend of smells.
It’s just as pretty to look at, it basically has the exact same texture and a very similar formula, and it smells just as delicious as the Huile Prodigieuse. Yep, the Melvita L’Or Bio Extraordinary Oil is definitely a good dupe for Nuxe’s cult product! And the price? For 100 ml you pay 40.50 CHF. That’s a lot, but the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse isn’t cheap either, and I personally don’t mind spending a little more on a product can take me to seventh heaven in just one sniff.
Are you such a Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse fan as well? Would you consider trying the new Melvita L’Or Bio Extraordinary Oil as an alternative?
