Normally I’m a very active person. You’ll never see me take the elevator instead of the stairs, and if I have to walk up the hill for half an hour because I’ve missed my bus I really don’t mind. I’m also kind of like a Duracell bunny. I’m always bouncing around and I whatever I do, I always do it fast. But lately I’ve been locked up inside with a serious knee injury*, and the only time I get any exercise right now is when I’m hopping around on my crutches. Seriously, I can’t even walk for 10 meters without being in pain, so all I can do is rest. Very frustrating! I want to go outside! I want to get off my ass! And not just because I don’t like being locked up inside doing nothing, but also because I don’t want to gain five kilos and trade all my muscle tone for flab and cellulite… I don’t have a choice right now though, so all I can do is hope that I can keep my bum and legs trim and toned by using firming body care products. A few weeks ago I received Sisley’s brand new CellulInov Intensive Anti-Cellulite Body Care – a coincidence? – and I’ve been using it for three weeks now. Time to find out if it has paid off!
* Update! I had knee surgery yesterday. I’m now recovering, and hopefully I’ll soon be on my feet again. Fingers crossed!
Three of the main ingredients in the new Sisley CellulInov Intensive Anti-Cellulite Body Care are longan seed extract – a tropical fruit from China that looks a bit like a lychee – Indian lotus extract and red algae extract. Sisley says that these extracts can get rid of cellulite by making the fat-storing cells under the surface of our skin store less fat and by preventing them from expanding. The brand also put caffeine and the natural essential oil cedrol in the formula to help the body drain fat, as well as ginkgo biloba extract that has a firming effect on the skin’s connective tissue. And Sisley also added a whole array of nourishing and skin-smoothing ingredients like soy extract and shea butter to the product to intensely hydrate the skin, make it more supple and boost the skin’s collagen production. All this combined should result in smoother and more supple skin with visibly less cellulite in four weeks’ time. Sounds good!
The new Sisley CellulInov Intensive Anti-Cellulite Body Care comes in a pine green 200 ml squeeze tube and has a white lightweight gel-like texture with a lovely fresh herbal-like scent. I’ve tried many anti-cellulite products in the past and I’ve used anything from creams to oils and sprays, but I definitely prefer products with a gel texture like this one. It’s just very easy to use, you don’t risk spilling any product and it’s a piece of cake to apply and massage the gel in.
I use the Sisley CellulInov Intensive Anti-Cellulite Body Care every day on my bum and thighs. I apply the product liberally so that I can really work it in and give my skin a good massage. Because trust me, the technique you use to apply an anti-cellulite product really determines how effective it will be. Don’t think that you’ll get results if you just slap the product on and leave it sitting like that. You really need to massage and knead it into your skin. This way you promote blood flow and increase the absorption of the product.
Right after I apply the Sisley CellulInov Intensive Anti-Cellulite Body Care my skin really feels baby soft. There’s absolutely no need to apply body lotion afterwards, because the Sisley CellulInov Intensive Anti-Cellulite Body Care hydrates my skin really well. And we all know that well-hydrated skin looks fuller, more supple and therefore a lot better. So I guess you could say there are some instant results, but do know that it’s mainly a visual thing and that there are no actual changes right after the first use. You really can’t get rid of cellulite or get noticeably firmer skin from just one or two applications.
Smooth skin versus skin with cellulite: too much fat in the cells under the surface of the skin causes them to expand and cause bumps
So how about three weeks later? Well, my bum and my legs still look the same as they did before my knee injury. So the situation didn’t worsen with my constant sitting, which is a relief. I can’t say that there is any drastic improvement though. But then again, I didn’t have a lot of cellulite to begin with anyway, so there wasn’t a lot that needed to be improved. Just a lot that needed to be maintained ;-) I do notice that the skin on my bum and legs has gotten more supple and more elastic, and that it stays like that, even when I haven’t just used the Sisley CellulInov Intensive Anti-Cellulite Body Care. And that’s a first, because no other anti-cellulite product has ever had this kind of lasting effect on my skin. So the Sisley CellulInov Intensive Anti-Cellulite Body Care definitely has a firming effect.
I think I have enough product left to last me another week or so, but then I’ll have to decide whether I will repurchase the Sisley CellulInov Intensive Anti-Cellulite Body Care or not, this time with my own money. I won’t lie, at a whopping 218 CHF I’m having doubts. On one hand I think it’s an awful lot of money to spend on a body care product. But on the other hand no other anti-cellulite product has worked so well for me like the Sisley CellulInov Intensive Anti-Cellulite Body Care has… So this is a dilemma. I think I’m going to see how much money I have left at the end of the month, and if I have enough chances are that I’ll be spending it on the Sisley CellulInov Intensive Anti-Cellulite Body Care. Fingers crossed!
The new Sisley CellulInov Intensive Anti-Cellulite Body Care will be available in March for 218 CHF.
