Those of you who love the Clinique Chubby Sticks & co (check ’em here & here) are going to love today’s blog post, because I have a whooooooole lot of jumbo lip pencil love for you today! Late March I received an amazing package from Revlon with the brand’s new ColorBurst Lacquer Balms and ColorBurst Matte Balms. I received 11 (!) colors and after a long swatching marathon – poor lips – I put together an overview for you guys. Have a look!
I’m sure that by now everyone knows the idea behind jumbo lip products: they have intense color like a lipstick, they nourish the lips like a lip balm, and they look like giant lip pencils. So the new Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balms and Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balms are not only intensely pigmented, but they also contain a bunch of nourishing and moisturizing ingredients – shea butter, cacao butter and mango butter – that moisturize the lips. It’s the perfect marriage between intense color and hydration.
The difference between the Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm and the Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm is that the Lacquer Balms have a glossy finish while the Matte Balms have a (semi-)matte finish. And with eleven colors in total to choose from there’s a color and a finish for everyone.
In the Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm range are Demure (nude pink), Coquette (cool pink), Vivacious (pinkish red), Flirtatious (fuchsia pink), Whimsical (cool dark pink) and Provocateur (warm red).
In the Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm range are Elusive (warm pink), Showy (bright neon-like pink), Mischievous (pale orange), Striking (warm red) and Standout (brick red).
I apologize for the less-than-perfect contours towards the end. The whole swatch-wipe-repeat process took its toll on my lips.
I like both the glossy and the matte finish of the Revlon ColorBurst Balms, but if I had to pick one color from each range I’d go for Flirtatious from the Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm range and Striking from the Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm range.
The Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balms and Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balms are available now for 17.90 CHF each.
Have you tried any of the Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balms or Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balms yet? Which color and finish do you like the most?
