Make-Up Look | Brown + Burgundy Smokey Eyes

You’re probably getting sick of me constantly posting looks featuring my Coastal Scents Custom Eyeshadow Palette, but I just can’t help it. I love my Coastal Scents Hot Pots! That’s the beauty of putting together your own eyeshadow palette: every single shade you pick is a shade you’ll love and use and – in my case – throw at people’s faces every chance you get. Today’s look features shimmery golden brown and red on the eyes paired with a peachy nude on the lips. Take a look!

Let’s start with eyes. I went with Coastal Scents Boca Mocha – a shimmery golden brown – on the eyelid and Coastal Scents Pomegranate Red – a matte red – in the outer corner of the eyes and crease. Blending Pomegranate Red into Boca Mocha makes it look less pure red and more burgundy, and turns it into a perfect color match for the Makeup Geek Full Spectrum Eye Liner Pencil in Plumeria that I’m wearing on my lower waterline. I completed the eye look by smudging a bit of Coastal Scents Chocolatier against my lower waterline, highlighting my inner eye corner with Coastal Scents Snow Bunny and applying a lick of mascara (Maybelline Volum’ Express Colossal Smoky Eyes Mascara) and a subtle wing just in the outer corners of my eyes (Sephora Fingertip Eyeliner).

On my skin I’m wearing my trusted combination of the Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer and the Morphe Banana Powder, and for blush I went with Crochet from my Sleek Blush By 3 Lace Blush Palette. And on my lips is the Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Nude Beach, a subtle peachy nude that balances out the heavy eye look.

What do you think of the look? Do you have a favorite eyeshadow palette?

A Parfumcity Stack Review with Sleek MakeUP, Clinique and Maybelline

After a few days of playing around with three new Parfumcity goodies it’s time for a little stack review! Take a look.

Sleek MakeUP Ultra Mattes V2 i-Divine Eyeshadow Palette

✿ top row: Orbit, Ink, Highness, Noir, Dune, Pillow Talk ✿
✿ bottom row: Thunder, Maple, Flesh, Paper Bag, Villan, Fern ✿

After treating myself to the Morphe 35OM palette – an all-matte eyeshadow palette in warm neutrals – I wanted to complete my matte eyeshadow collection with some brighter, more colorful shades and the Sleek MakeUP Ultra Mattes V2 i-Divine Eyeshadow Palette seemed just perfect for that.

✿ Maple (inner half of the eyelid), Highness (outer half of the eyelid), Villan (crease), Pillow Talk (inner corner highlight) & Ink (lower lash line) ✿

The palette features 12 colorful fall-out free (!!!) mattes that are all insanely pigmented (win) and have a beautifully smooth texture that’s wonderful to work with (more win). Two thumbs up!

Clinique All About Eyes Concealer

The Clinique All About Eyes Concealer promises to ‘disguise dark under eye circles’ and to ‘reduce the look of puffiness’ with its ‘long-wearing moisturizing formula that won’t crease or settle into fine lines’. Unfortunately none of that turned out to be true. While the formula does provide heavy coverage I just found it way too thick, heavy and drying to be comfortable. What I wanted was a moisturizing yet lightweight concealer with good coverage and a smooth finish. Unfortunately the Clinique All About Eyes Concealer is pretty much the complete opposite of that. Bummer.

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara

The Maybelline Great Lash Mascara has been around for an impressive 40 (!) years now, but after all that time it’s apparently still a consumer favorite.

✿ Please ignore the bloodshot eye, annoying ongoing eye troubles… ✿

And I totally get why! Even though the brush is quite small it’s super easy to work with as it catches and coats every single lash for a full yet natural-looking effect without clumping, flaking or smudging. A+!

Availability: 6 CHF in the Parfumcity online store.

Have you tried any of these products? Did you get any new make-up lately?

P.S.: Don’t forget to enter my Max Factor raffle to win one of the four Miracle Touch Foundations that I’m giving away!
