Make-Up Look | Brown + Burgundy Smokey Eyes

You’re probably getting sick of me constantly posting looks featuring my Coastal Scents Custom Eyeshadow Palette, but I just can’t help it. I love my Coastal Scents Hot Pots! That’s the beauty of putting together your own eyeshadow palette: every single shade you pick is a shade you’ll love and use and – in my case – throw at people’s faces every chance you get. Today’s look features shimmery golden brown and red on the eyes paired with a peachy nude on the lips. Take a look!

Let’s start with eyes. I went with Coastal Scents Boca Mocha – a shimmery golden brown – on the eyelid and Coastal Scents Pomegranate Red – a matte red – in the outer corner of the eyes and crease. Blending Pomegranate Red into Boca Mocha makes it look less pure red and more burgundy, and turns it into a perfect color match for the Makeup Geek Full Spectrum Eye Liner Pencil in Plumeria that I’m wearing on my lower waterline. I completed the eye look by smudging a bit of Coastal Scents Chocolatier against my lower waterline, highlighting my inner eye corner with Coastal Scents Snow Bunny and applying a lick of mascara (Maybelline Volum’ Express Colossal Smoky Eyes Mascara) and a subtle wing just in the outer corners of my eyes (Sephora Fingertip Eyeliner).

On my skin I’m wearing my trusted combination of the Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer and the Morphe Banana Powder, and for blush I went with Crochet from my Sleek Blush By 3 Lace Blush Palette. And on my lips is the Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Nude Beach, a subtle peachy nude that balances out the heavy eye look.

Review | Makeup Geek Full Spectrum Eye Liner Pencil in Plumeria + Ocean

One of my favorite ways to add a little zing to a make-up look is by applying a bit of colorful eyeliner on my lower waterline. It’s amazing what a difference just a tiny touch of color can make! Hence why I have such an extensive collection of colorful eyeliners. But I happily made room for two more when the new Makeup Geek Full Spectrum Eye Liner Pencil ($9) collection was launched. Take a look!

Plumeria

Plumeria is a stunning deep creamy red and is – together with Bourjois Pink About You and MAC Sourpuss – probably one of the most unique eyeliners in my collection. So beautiful!

I know some people prefer to steer clear of red(dish) eyeliners as  they can make you look a bit teary eyed, but I just couldn’t resist Plumeria. It’s just such a stunning color!

Plumeria on the lower waterline (+ on the eyes)

The pencil glides smoothly across my waterline without tugging, evenly depositing color in the process. I do have to go back and forth a few times to get perfectly opaque coverage though, but that’s alright because the texture is really nice and creamy and gentle on the eyes. Plus as soon as the color is on it stays on pretty much all day long without fading or smudging, so I have nothing but praise for Plumeria.

Ocean

Ocean is a gorgeous bleuish green with a pretty pearly finish. I wear green and blue eyeliner a lot, so I figured why not add a nice little hybrid into the mix.

Ocean (right)

Ocean is equally intense, creamy and buildable as Plumeria but the color does seem to wear off a tiny bit quicker, especially in the outer and inner corner of my eyes, so a little mid-day touch-up isn’t an unnecessary luxury with this shade.

The color itself is absolutely killer though, so I’m not complaining!

Do you often wear colorful eyeliner? What do you think of Plumeria and Ocean?
