Make-Up Look | Warm Smokey Eyes, Peach Blush And Nude Lips

For today’s make-up look I went with one my favorite make-up combinations again: soft smokey eyes in warm fleshy tones, paired with peach blush and a subtle nude lip. Take a look!

On my eyes I’m wearing all Makeup Geek. Using Cosmopolitan (eyelid), Frappa (outer eye corner + crease), Artemis (inner eye corner) and Aphrodite from the Makeup Geek Manny MUA Eyeshadow Palette I created a subtle smokey eye in warm peachy tones.

On my lower waterline I applied the Makeup Geek Full Spectrum Eye Liner Pencil in Plumeria, a stunning plum red color. Next I applied a few licks of black mascara and some veeeeeery subtle liquid liner in my outer eye corner, and that was it for eyes.

On my skin I’m wearing the Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer which I set with my NYX HD Finishing Powder. And on my cheeks is my favorite blush of all time: Urban Decay Indecent.

And for lips finally I went with my beloved Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick in Sheer Liar, a creamy rosy brown nude.

Make-Up Look | Pink Framboise

In today’s make-up look I want to show off my new Clinique Sweet Pots Sugar Scrub + Lip Balm in Pink Framboise. If you’re a regular here on the blog you’ll know that I’m absolutely crazy about the Clinique Sweet Pots, so I figured I’d give this latest color in my collection a little extra love. Take a look!

Since Pink Framboise is so subtle – as are all Clinique Sweet Pots – I decided to keep the rest of my make-up subtle and neutral as well so nothing would overpower the lip color.

On my eyes I’m wearing the Smashbox Photo Op Eyeshadow in Cinnamon (eyelid), Nude (outer eye corner + crease) and Vintage (upper lash line) which I paired with plain black eyeliner and mascara.

Review Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess Summer Glow Multi Palette swatches

On my skin I’m wearing just my Kiss Me Sunkiller Super Lasting Base with my Morphe Banana Powder on top, and on my cheeks I used the bronzing powder from my Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess Summer Glow Multi Palette.

And here’s Pink Framboise again. Pretty, huh?

Are you a fan of the Clinique Sweet Pots and tinted lip balms? What do you think of Pink Framboise?

Two Dashes Of Glam | When Your Man Picks Your Make-Up

You know what they say: great minds think alike. And when my blog friend Natasja and I were choosing a theme for this month’s Two Dashes Of Glam feature that certainly was the case. Since February is the month of love – in case you missed it, tomorrow is V-day – we both came up with the idea of letting our guys pick out our make-up. That’s right, this month the boys were in charge!

Tom’s Picks

Since I always put the focus on my eyes I decided to start with eyeshadow. I told Tom that he had to pick a minimum of two colors, but that he could pick more if he wanted to. And boy did he take it seriously. I kind of expected him to just quickly point to two or three shades that caught his eye, but instead he really thought it through.

Him: “So what is all this stuff?”
Me: “What do you mean?”
Him: “This. What’s what? What do I pick from first? Which are the eyeshadows?”
Me: “Oh, no, this is all eyeshadow. You can pick from all of this.”
Him: “This is ALL eyeshadow?! Why is there so much of it?!”
Me: “I’ve actually been downsizing a lot lately…”
Him: “Really? Huh. Soooo which of these is the most expensive?”
Me: “That one probably.”
Him: “That one? But that’s the most boring one!”
Me: “Well, you don’t have to pick the most expensive eyeshadow, do you? Just pick a couple shades that you like!”
Him: “There’s so much brown.”
Me: “No, there isn’t.”
Him: “Yes, there is.”
Me: “JUST PICK SOME COLORS!”

Morphe Soul Of Summer eyeshadow palette review

After a couple minutes he ended up picking a shimmery silver gray from my Morphe 12S Soul Of Summer Palette as well as a matte beige and matte blackened brown from my Morphe 35OM Eyeshadow Palette. Guess my man’s a Morphe fan then!

Next we moved on to blush.

Him: “How many do I pick?”
Me: “Just one. How many blushes do you think a girl can wear at once?”
Him: “This is going to be easy. That one. Nothing too crazy.”

And “that one” ended up being the Clinique Blush Powder in Innocent Peach. Great choice, if you ask me, because I love peachy blushes and Innocent Peach is one of my current favorites!

Next up was lipstick.

Me: “I’ll start opening lipsticks and you just tell me when you spot one that you like, okay?”
Him: “No, I’m not going to pick until I’ve seen them all.”
Me: “Seriously?”
Him: “Of course.”

Him: “Why do you have so many of the same colors?”
Me: “What do you mean?”
Him: “These for example, they’re all the same. And these. And these!”
Me: “No, they’re not. They’re all different nuances.”
Him: “Well, they all look brown to me.”
Me: “Just pick a lipstick, will you?”
Him: “Okay… this one. Bet you weren’t expecting that, huh! Are you happy with it?”
Me: “Yes, actually, because it’s not as baby pink as you probably think it is. It’s a color-adjusting lipstick that adapts itself to the pH of your lips, and it’s actually not that bright at all.”
Him: “…”

review MAC Pretty Me Up Tendertalk Lip Balm swatch

He ended up picking a tinted lip balm rather than an actual lipstick: the MAC Tendertalk Lip Balm. Not that I’m complaining though, because I love Pretty Me Up!

I also asked him if he wanted to pick some colored eyeliner (“No, just use black everywhere”) or add other products to the look like bronzer or highlighter (“No.”) so I ended up completing the look with the Maybelline Volum’ Express Colossal Smoky Eyes Mascara on my lashes, the Sephora Fingertip Eye Liner for my wing and a Lord & Berry eye pencil on my lower waterline. And this was the result:

When I asked Tom whether he liked what I had done with the products I was met with lukewarm typical male enthusiasm.

Me: “So what do you think?”
Him: “What I do I think of what?”
Me: “My make-up. These are the products that you picked.”
Him: “Oh. Yeah, it’s nice.”
Me: “Do you like it?”
Him: “Yes.”

Boys.

Dylan’s Picks

Natasja’s boyfriend Dylan kept it timeless and classic with his make-up picks: red for the lips, gray and black for the eyes, and a soft pink cheek. Sounds very V-day proof! Quickly hop over to Eyes Painted Black to check out the look!

Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Hi-Lustre Lipstick in Melon

I’m officially not allowed to share any specifics about Estée Lauder’s upcoming lipstick release for spring yet, but let me tell you this: it’s gonna be good, it’s gonna be big, and you’re gonna LOVE it! And by “it” I might mean 30 (!!!) new lip colors with 4 different finishes, though at this point I can neither confirm nor deny that*. The new collection won’t be released until next season though, so in the meantime I’ve been having some fun with one of the new shade options in the Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Hi-Lustre Lipstick (44 CHF) range: Melon.
* I’m so totally confirming it

You know I love my peaches, my corals and my oranges (and I have a feeling they love me back!) so it was pretty much love at first sight between Melon and me.

✿ eyeshadow: Smashbox Cinnamon + Vintage
✿ eyeliner: Lord & Berry Silk Kajal ✿
✿ mascara: Estée Lauder Sumptuous Knockout Defining Lift and Fan Mascara
✿ eyebrows: L’Oréal Brow Artist Xpert in Brunette

✿ blush: Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess Powder Bronzer

Such a great color, huh? And I love that hi-lustre finish! So pretty!
