Video | Make-Up + Jewelry Storage

I’m not gonna lie, I probably never would have shot today’s video if it wasn’t for my new GoPro Hero 5 Black. When the memory card for my new GoPro finally arrived I wanted to shoot some footage right away and since we probably won’t go skiing for another couple weeks I figured I might as well record a video for the blog with it. The only problem was that I didn’t have any inspiration. I already had my face on, so I couldn’t do a Get Ready With Me video. And since I’m an impatient little girl with zero restraint I obviously wasn’t going to wait until the next morning to try my camera. So in the end I decided to do a video on how I store my make-up and jewelry. I’ve been seriously downsizing my make-up and jewelry collection lately – freebies for all! – and in doing so I’ve come up with some rather creative storage options. Take a look!

What do you say, should I shoot more blog videos with my new GoPro? How do you store your make-up and jewelry?

This Was 2016 | Favorite Make-Up Looks

In today’s This Was 2016 post I want to share five favorite make-up looks that I did this year. Want to know more about each look and the products that I used? Then make sure to click the link below the photos!

5. Colorful Smoke Eyes For Summer

This EOTD pretty much had everything I like in a smokey eye: rosy bronze and red on the eyes, a touch of color in the inner eye corners, some colorful eye pencil on the lower waterline and a subtle wing.

4. This Kinda Totally Works

This spontaneous make-up look ended up being one of my favorite looks that I did this year. Funny how that happens, right?

3. Jewel-Toned Eyes + Shimmery Pink Lips

This FOTD featuring a stunning green eyeshadow and shimmery pink lipstick from the MAC Bangin’ Brilliant Collection received a ton of positive feedback from you guys, and I’m glad because this look is also a favorite of mine.

2. A K-Beauty Make-Up Look

K-Beauty makeup look Missha 3D Luster Shadow Brick House It’s Skin Babyface Petit Blusher Romantic Rose TONYMOLY Petite Bunny Gloss Bar Juicy Peach

A copper eye, a glossy pink lip and flushed cheeks? That’s so me! I immediately fell in love with the three Korean make-up products I used for this look, especially that gorgeous copper Missha eyeshadow.

1. Green Smokey Eyes

This triple green smokey eye look is probably my favorite make-up look of 2016. I’ve always had a thing for green on the eyes and by combining three of my favorite green eyeshadows I pretty much created the ultimate green smokey eye for me.

Which of these make-up looks do you like best?

Five Instagram Favorites (And How They Tell You Who I Am)

Time for some Instatalk! Today I’m sharing five of my favorite Instagram accounts, but rather than including only beauty related accounts I’m going to share five accounts from five totally different categories. The idea? To tell you a bit more about who I am and what is important to me. I am more than just a beauty blogger after all and there’s more to me than just make-up. Take a look!

Katerina Williams (@katerina_beauty_blog)

Let’s start with an easy one and kick off the list with an account from the beauty category. Katerina Williams is one of my favorite Youtubers and she’s an absolute joy to watch and listen to. Her make-up skills are absolutely insane and if I could I’d copy paste her looks right off her (ridiculously beautiful) face onto mine, they’re just that good.

Frenchiebutt (@frenchiebutt)

I’m a huuuuuge animal lover and I’m a fan of all things furry and fluffy, even of the non-conventionally cute variety. A spider wearing a dew drop for a hat? CUTE! An octopus sitting in a coconut shell? ADORABLE! But dogs are still my favorite. One of my favorite animal accounts on Instagram is Frenchiebutt, the cutest little French bulldog to ever roam the planet. JUST LOOK AT THAT WITLLE FACE!!!

Papa Roach (@paparoach)

Music is very important to me. I never ‘just’ put something on or play something in the background to break the silence. When I listen to a music I truly listen. And that is why I like music that comes from the heart. Papa Roach has been my favorite band for years now and I’d basically chop off my left toe to see them live. As Jacoby once said: ‘every beat, every riff, every lyric comes from this motherfucking heart’.  And I believe him. Papa Roach’s music just does something to me. And I love it.

My Chocolate Diary (@mychocolatediary)

I only discovered My Chocolate Diary a few weeks ago when I was browsing the #chocolatelover hashtag but boy, I’m soooooo happy I stumbled across Hilda’s page! As I’m sure you know I’m a huge chocoholic – seriously, there’s no rehab for this level of chocolate addiction – and looking at fellow chocolate lover Hilda’s chocolate pics is just absolute bliss for me. Now if you’ll excuse me, time for a chocolate break!

Martine Nijs (@martine_nijs)

I know it sounds cheesy, but my mom’s page is also one of my favorite Instagram pages. Even though her account is private and she doesn’t share many pictures it always puts a big smile on my face when she posts something new. Living in Switzerland means that I don’t get to see her very often and most of our communication happens online, so it’s always a joy to see pictures of her and my dad – #relationshipgoals by the way – or proud reposts of my pics.

And there you have it, five of my favorite Instagram accounts and a little bit more about why I love them. Want to get to know me even better and get an inside look at my life? Then make sure to follow me on Instagram @kissandmakeupsbeautyblog!

What are some of your favorite Instagram accounts? How does who you follow on social media reflect who you are?

What part of your make-up and/or skincare routine do you enjoy most?

Question of the day: What part of your make-up and/or skincare routine do you enjoy most?

I like applying lipstick or lip gloss because that means I’m almost done and it just ties together the whole look. And I love applying overnight masks. My skin just drinks that stuff right up. My favorite leave-on mask is the Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask.
