Review | Estée Lauder Revitalizing Supreme+ Global Anti-Aging Cell Power Eye Gelée

A multi-action, fatigue-fighting eye treatment that visibly improves firmness and reduces the look of lines, wrinkles and puffiness whilst also brightening the look of dark circles and reinvigorating the eye area? Who’d say no to that?! For the past two weeks I’ve been busy testing the new Estée Lauder Revitalizing Supreme+ Global Anti-Aging Cell Power Eye Gelée (79 CHF) and today I’m ready to pass my verdict. Time to find out if Estée Lauder’s new eye cream slash massage tool lives up to the expectations.

The Estée Lauder Revitalizing Supreme+ Global Anti-Aging Cell Power Eye Gelée comes in an 8 ml dispenser pen with a built-in flexible massage tip. The idea is to use the product twice a day by pressing the soft pad on the neck of the dispenser until the desired amount of gel comes out and then massage the product under and around your eyes using the cooling massage tip.

According to Estée Lauder this should instantly smoothen and brighten up the eye area by reducing fine lines and wrinkles and providing instant cooling and hydration. And in the long run it should fight multiple signs of eye aging and diminish the appearance of dark circles.

INGREDIENTS: WATER\AQUA\EAU, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, DIMETHICONE, NYLON-12, CETYL RICINOLEATE, PROPANEDIOL, BIS-PEG-18 METHYL ETHER DIMETHYL SILANE, AMMONIUM ACRYLOYLDIMETHYLTAURATE/VP COPOLYMER, CHLORELLA VULGARIS EXTRACT, TRITICUM VULGARE (WHEAT) GERM EXTRACT, WHEY PROTEIN, CAFFEINE, ACETYL GLUCOSAMINE, CHOLESTEROL, HORDEUM VULGARE (BARLEY) EXTRACT, SODIUM HYALURONATE, ALGAE EXTRACT, SQUALANE, LAMINARIA DIGITATA EXTRACT, LINOLEIC ACID, MORINGA OLEIFERA SEED EXTRACT, PRUNUS MUME FRUIT EXTRACT, MIMOSA TENUIFLORA BARK EXTRACT, CUCUMIS SATIVUS (CUCUMBER) FRUIT EXTRACT, NARCISSUS TAZETTA BULB EXTRACT, OPUNTIA TUNA EXTRACT, PHYTOSPHINGOSINE, LIMONIUM VULGARE FLOWER/LEAF/STEM EXTRACT, BIOSACCHARIDE GUM – 1, ARTEMIA EXTRACT, ACETYL HEXAPEPTIDE-8, PROPYLENE GLYCOL DICAPRATE, HELIANTHUS ANNUUS (SUNFLOWER) SEEDCAKE, GLYCERIN, TREHALOSE, SUCROSE, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, HYDROGENATED LECITHIN, PEG-11 METHYL ETHER DIMETHICONE, APRYLYL GLYCOL, OLETH-10, POLYSILICONE-11, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, ISOCETETH-20, SODIUM ACRYLATES/ACRYLONITROGENS COPOLYMER, CITRIC ACID, HEXYLENE GLYCOL, TROMETHAMINE, MALTODEXTRIN, DISODIUM EDTA, BHT, PHENOXYETHANOL, IRON OXIDES (CI 77492), IRON OXIDES (CI 77491)

Time to talk results! I’m definitely seeing the promised immediate effects of the Estée Lauder Revitalizing Supreme+ Global Anti-Aging Cell Power Eye Gelée. Right after applying it the my eye area feels refreshed and dry lines pretty much disappear instantly.  The long-term effects however are harder for me to judge, simply because my eye area still looks pretty youthful (let’s keep it that way) and dark circles aren’t really an issue for me (let’s not change that either). That said, I firmly believe it’s better to prevent than to treat, so I’ll happily continue to use the Estée Lauder Revitalizing Supreme+ Global Anti-Aging Cell Power Eye Gelée for its instant results and hopefully preventative long-term effect.

Do you use an eye cream or eye treatment? What are your thoughts on the Estée Lauder Revitalizing Supreme+ Global Anti-Aging Cell Power Eye Gelée?

P.S.: Don’t forget to submit a question for my upcoming Ask Me Anything video & maybe win a Jo Malone Body Crème in the process!

Obsessed With Rituals Cosmetics

The other week my husband made a comment about how our whole place “smells like Rituals” all the time. And he’s right. As soon as you enter our home you get the scent of rice milk and cherry blossom from the Rituals Home Perfume Tassel that’s hanging on our door handle.

In the living room you catch a whiff of sweet orange and cedar from the Rituals Interior Perfume that I spray on our curtains every evening.

And the bedroom smells of holy lotus and bergamot because of the The Ritual Of Karma Bed & Body Mist that I spray on our bed linen each night before bed.

And so does our bathroom for that matter, because we currently have the The Ritual Of Karma Blissful Shower Oil in our shower.

And, as I’m writing this, I’m enjoying a cup of The Rituals Of Light Soul Warming Tea with sweet orange and cinnamon. #goingalltheway

So yes, we’re Rituals fans and it shows smells. What can I say, no brand does pretty smells like Rituals. I literally can’t think of a single Rituals collection that I don’t like. Whether it’s home fragrance, tea or skincare, all their products just smell so darn good! And speaking of skincare: I recently received three of the brand’s hand care products and they – of course – smell amazing.

The Rituals The Ritual of Ayurveda Softening Miracle Scrub (18 CHF), a skin-smoothing hand scrub, is infused with ginseng and ginkgo biloba.

The Rituals The Ritual Of Ayurveda Hydrating Hand Lotion (12.50 CHF) has indian rose and sweet almond, which is one of my favorite scent combos from Rituals.

And the Rituals The Ritual Of Dao Soothing Night Balm (16 CHF), a thick overnight hand treatment, has the delicate and soothing scent of white lotus and yi yi ren. What a treat for the nose!

In terms of formula there are definitely cheaper hand creams out there that work just as well – if not better – but like I said: no one does pretty scents like Rituals. My go-to heavy duty hand cream at the moment is the O’Keeffe’s Working Hands Hand Cream, but if I want to pamper myself and treat myself to a some girly me-time I happily reach for my Rituals hand creams.

Are you a Rituals fan? What is your favorite Rituals collection? Have you tried any of these products?

Can the Bobbi Brown Instant Confidence Stick really smooth wrinkles?

That’s the question of the day: can the Bobbi Brown Instant Confidence Stick Line Smoother really smooth wrinkles? The short answer is yes, it can. But since I don’t expect you to be satisfied with a simple ‘yes’ here’s the full story. Take a look!

The Bobbi Brown Instant Confidence Stick (51 CHF) is described by the brand as a “magic eraser” that “instantly blurs the look of fine lines and wrinkles for a smoother, more lineless look” and can be used under as well as over make-up and can be reapplied whenever necessary.

Not surprisingly the formula is chock-full of silicones which do a wonderful job smoothing and blurring the skin by filling in lines and softening the skin’s overall texture.

Ingredients: Dimethicone, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Triethylhexyl Trimellitate, Polysilicone-11, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Hydroxystearic Acid, HDI/Trimethylol Hexyllactone Crosspolymer, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Ethylhexyl Hydroxystearate, Nylon-12, C30-45 Olefin, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Gossypium Herbaceum (Cotton), Ceramide NG, Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-12, Tribehenin, PEG-10 Phytosterol, Silica.

Confession time! I already received the Bobbi Brown Instant Confidence Stick several months ago for review, but I pretty much chucked it on my not-suitable-for-review pile right away because, well, in order to test a wrinkle-smoothing product you actually need to have a wrinkles. And I don’t. It’s like a 21-year old reviewing a product line for mature skin or a Victoria’s Secret model testing a slimming health shake: it just doesn’t make sense. So in the handout box the Bobbi Brown Instant Confidence Stick went, until I read about it again on Beautypedia and saw the 5 star rating it received. Five freakin’ stars! So maybe the Bobbi Brown Instant Confidence Stick was worth trying after all… Perhaps people needed to know about this product. Maybe I needed to write about it after all. And that brings us to this review. Like I said, due to my lack of wrinkles – hah! – I wasn’t able to test the product on my face, so tried it on my hands. My hands suffer a lot and I’m pretty sure that my abused pawes look older than those of your average 29-year old. Look:

✿ Before ✿

✿ After ✿

Pretty amazing, huh?? I didn’t edit my skin in the after pic – obviously – and just look how much smoother my fingers look! The Bobbi Brown Instant Confidence Stick fills in the lines on my fingers beautifully and does a fantastic job blurring my skin’s texture. My camera even had trouble focusing in the after shot since there was so little texture to focus on, can you imagine?

So the bottom line is that yes, the Bobbi Brown Instant Confidence Stick really can smooth wrinkles and I can see this working beautifully on crow’s feet, mouth lines and superficial wrinkles. Color me impressed! Fingers crossed that this little miracle worker will still be around in a few years when I need it.

Are you bothered by fine lines and wrinkles? Have you tried the Bobbi Brown Instant Confidence Stick yet?

Video | Make-Up + Jewelry Storage

I’m not gonna lie, I probably never would have shot today’s video if it wasn’t for my new GoPro Hero 5 Black. When the memory card for my new GoPro finally arrived I wanted to shoot some footage right away and since we probably won’t go skiing for another couple weeks I figured I might as well record a video for the blog with it. The only problem was that I didn’t have any inspiration. I already had my face on, so I couldn’t do a Get Ready With Me video. And since I’m an impatient little girl with zero restraint I obviously wasn’t going to wait until the next morning to try my camera. So in the end I decided to do a video on how I store my make-up and jewelry. I’ve been seriously downsizing my make-up and jewelry collection lately – freebies for all! – and in doing so I’ve come up with some rather creative storage options. Take a look!

Watch the video on YouTube for the best quality & remember to put the settings at 1080p HD

✿ My new baby: the GoPro Hero 5 Black (thank you to my AWESOME friend!) ✿

What do you say, should I shoot more blog videos with my new GoPro? How do you store your make-up and jewelry?
