Can the Bobbi Brown Instant Confidence Stick really smooth wrinkles?

That’s the question of the day: can the Bobbi Brown Instant Confidence Stick Line Smoother really smooth wrinkles? The short answer is yes, it can. But since I don’t expect you to be satisfied with a simple ‘yes’ here’s the full story. Take a look!

The Bobbi Brown Instant Confidence Stick (51 CHF) is described by the brand as a “magic eraser” that “instantly blurs the look of fine lines and wrinkles for a smoother, more lineless look” and can be used under as well as over make-up and can be reapplied whenever necessary.

Not surprisingly the formula is chock-full of silicones which do a wonderful job smoothing and blurring the skin by filling in lines and softening the skin’s overall texture.

Ingredients: Dimethicone, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Triethylhexyl Trimellitate, Polysilicone-11, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Hydroxystearic Acid, HDI/Trimethylol Hexyllactone Crosspolymer, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Ethylhexyl Hydroxystearate, Nylon-12, C30-45 Olefin, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Gossypium Herbaceum (Cotton), Ceramide NG, Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-12, Tribehenin, PEG-10 Phytosterol, Silica.

Confession time! I already received the Bobbi Brown Instant Confidence Stick several months ago for review, but I pretty much chucked it on my not-suitable-for-review pile right away because, well, in order to test a wrinkle-smoothing product you actually need to have a wrinkles. And I don’t. It’s like a 21-year old reviewing a product line for mature skin or a Victoria’s Secret model testing a slimming health shake: it just doesn’t make sense. So in the handout box the Bobbi Brown Instant Confidence Stick went, until I read about it again on Beautypedia and saw the 5 star rating it received. Five freakin’ stars! So maybe the Bobbi Brown Instant Confidence Stick was worth trying after all… Perhaps people needed to know about this product. Maybe I needed to write about it after all. And that brings us to this review. Like I said, due to my lack of wrinkles – hah! – I wasn’t able to test the product on my face, so tried it on my hands. My hands suffer a lot and I’m pretty sure that my abused pawes look older than those of your average 29-year old. Look:

✿ Before ✿

✿ After ✿

Pretty amazing, huh?? I didn’t edit my skin in the after pic – obviously – and just look how much smoother my fingers look! The Bobbi Brown Instant Confidence Stick fills in the lines on my fingers beautifully and does a fantastic job blurring my skin’s texture. My camera even had trouble focusing in the after shot since there was so little texture to focus on, can you imagine?

So the bottom line is that yes, the Bobbi Brown Instant Confidence Stick really can smooth wrinkles and I can see this working beautifully on crow’s feet, mouth lines and superficial wrinkles. Color me impressed! Fingers crossed that this little miracle worker will still be around in a few years when I need it.

Are you bothered by fine lines and wrinkles? Have you tried the Bobbi Brown Instant Confidence Stick yet?

Video | Make-Up + Jewelry Storage

I’m not gonna lie, I probably never would have shot today’s video if it wasn’t for my new GoPro Hero 5 Black. When the memory card for my new GoPro finally arrived I wanted to shoot some footage right away and since we probably won’t go skiing for another couple weeks I figured I might as well record a video for the blog with it. The only problem was that I didn’t have any inspiration. I already had my face on, so I couldn’t do a Get Ready With Me video. And since I’m an impatient little girl with zero restraint I obviously wasn’t going to wait until the next morning to try my camera. So in the end I decided to do a video on how I store my make-up and jewelry. I’ve been seriously downsizing my make-up and jewelry collection lately – freebies for all! – and in doing so I’ve come up with some rather creative storage options. Take a look!

Watch the video on YouTube for the best quality & remember to put the settings at 1080p HD

What do you say, should I shoot more blog videos with my new GoPro? How do you store your make-up and jewelry?

Bobbi Brown Remedies + L’Occitane Shea Foaming Cleanser & Solidarity Balm

2017 has only just begun, but skincare-wise January is already proving to be a good month with five brand new launches from two of my favorite beauty brands. Take a look!

Bobbi Brown Remedies Skin Salve, Skin Relief & Skin Reviver

The new Bobbi Brown Remedies range consists of six brand spanking new skin treatments (all priced at 58 CHF) for the targeted treatment of specific skin troubles. I’ve been using three of the products from the range for a couple weeks now and so far I’m really liking them. The Bobbi Brown Skin Salve is a restoring balm that protects, regenerates and nourishes extra dry areas, the algae-based Bobbi Brown Skin Relief treatment soothes sensitive and irritated skin and the Bobbi Brown Skin Reviver uses a natural plant ferments to protect and strengthen the skin against external agressions.

L’Occitane 5% Shea Foaming Cleanser + Solidarity Balm

At the end of this month L’Occitane Switzerland is launching its brand new 5% Shea Foaming Cleanser (26 CHF) as well as a new Solidarity Balm (6 CHF). After two weeks of once-a-day use I have to conclude that the L’Occitane 5% Shea Oil Cleanser remains my number one favorite, though I’m also getting along pretty well with the new foam version since it’s just as effective and (almost) as gentle as the oil. And this year’s L’Occitane Solidarity Balm is also a winner for me. It’s a great little all-in-one balm – much like the Bobbi Brown Skin Salve, actually – and it smells deliciously of violets.

Did you pick up anything from the new Bobbi Brown Remedies collection? Do you plan on trying the new L’Occitane releases?

Best Of | Winter Skincare Favorites

Winter always starts a little early here in Switzerland, which is why today I’m sharing some of my biggest winter skincare favorites with you. Take a look!

Face: Eucerin Hyal-Urea Anti-Wrinkle Day Cream

review Eucerin Hyal-Urea Anti-Wrinkle Day Creme

I only started using the Eucerin Hyal-Urea Anti-Wrinkle Day Cream a few weeks ago, so the fact that it has already secured a spot on my best of list is quite impressive. I just love how moisturizing and soothing the formula is without feeling too heavy or greasy. Icy winter winds and sub-zero temperatures ain’t got nothing on this moisturizer!

Availability: 19.60 EUR at Apotheek Online.

Body: La Roche Posay Lipikar Baume AP+

My husband and I are both huge fans of the La Roche Posay Lipikar formula and with winter around the corner we decided to switch from the Lait to the Baume AP+. The smooth balm texture of the Baume is richer and thicker than that of the milk and does an even better job moisturizing and keeping dry, itchy skin feeling soothed and comfortable.

Availability: 19.98 EUR at Apotheek Online.

Hands: Estée Lauder New Dimension Smooth + Tone Creme-Glove

review Estée Lauder New Dimension Smooth + Tone Creme-Glove

In my initial review on the Estée Lauder New Dimension Smooth + Tone Creme-Glove I said that a 52 CHF hand cream was too expensive to qualify as rebuy material, but then I ended up repurchasing it anyway. What can I say, I just fell in love with the magic of the formula. My hands are very dry, especially in winter, so if a 52 CHF hand cream is what it takes to keep ‘em soft and comfortable then I guess I’m okay with that.

Availability: 52 CHF at all Estée Lauder counters and in the Estée Lauder online store.

Lips: Clinique Sweet Pots Sugar Scrub + Lip Balm

Review Clinique Candied Cassis Sweet Pots Sugar Scrub + Lip Balm

I know I’m starting to sound like a broken record here, but the balm from the Clinique Sweet Pots duo is simply THE best lip balm I’ve ever tried. No other formula keeps my lips as well hydrated and comfortable as the Clinique Sweet Pots Lip Balm does, it’s just that good.

Availability: 29 CHF at all Clinique counters and in the Clinique online store.

Feet: O’Keeffe’s Foot Cream

I first tried the O’Keeffe’s Foot Cream last summer and let’s just say it totally blew me off my feet (pun intended). My heels and toes are very prone to calluses, but when I put the O’Keeffe’s Foot Cream on my paws before bed I wake up the next day with insanely soft feet. I used to have to remove calluses from my feet almost weekly, but now that I use the O’Keeffe’s Foot Cream every night before bed I barely have to do it anymore, win!

Availability: 6.49 USD at iHerb.
