Make-Up Look | MAC Red Alert

Last month I depotted some MAC eyeshadow singles and put them all together in an e.l.f. Elements Custom Compact**. Good idea, right? So much more organized!

✿ R.I.P. (Instagram @kissandmakeupsbeautyblog) ✿

The only problem was that I didn’t immediately write down the names of each shade – I figured I knew my collection well enough to remember – and I ended up with one eyeshadow that I just couldn’t identify.

✿ MAC Embark (top left), MAC Red Alert (bottom left), MAC New Crop (top right), MAC Lucky Green (bottom right) ✿

It was this beautiful rusty copper shade and it just killed me that I couldn’t remember its name. But last weekend I finally figured it out and had my aha moment. It was MAC Red Alert from the MAC Red, Red, Red Collection from two years ago!

For this make-up look I applied MAC Red Alert on my entire eyelid and then blended some MAC Embark in my outer eye corners and crease and against my lower lash line for depth and contrast. On my skin I’m only wearing the Kiss Me Sunkiller Super Lasting Base, set with my L.A. Girl HD Pro Setting Powder and a light touch of the Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess Powder Bronzer. And on my lips I’m wearing the MAC Tendertalk Lip Balm in Pretty Me Up.

Do you depot single eyeshadows? What do you think of MAC Red Alert?

Make-Up Look | Brown + Burgundy Smokey Eyes

You’re probably getting sick of me constantly posting looks featuring my Coastal Scents Custom Eyeshadow Palette, but I just can’t help it. I love my Coastal Scents Hot Pots! That’s the beauty of putting together your own eyeshadow palette: every single shade you pick is a shade you’ll love and use and – in my case – throw at people’s faces every chance you get. Today’s look features shimmery golden brown and red on the eyes paired with a peachy nude on the lips. Take a look!

Let’s start with eyes. I went with Coastal Scents Boca Mocha – a shimmery golden brown – on the eyelid and Coastal Scents Pomegranate Red – a matte red – in the outer corner of the eyes and crease. Blending Pomegranate Red into Boca Mocha makes it look less pure red and more burgundy, and turns it into a perfect color match for the Makeup Geek Full Spectrum Eye Liner Pencil in Plumeria that I’m wearing on my lower waterline. I completed the eye look by smudging a bit of Coastal Scents Chocolatier against my lower waterline, highlighting my inner eye corner with Coastal Scents Snow Bunny and applying a lick of mascara (Maybelline Volum’ Express Colossal Smoky Eyes Mascara) and a subtle wing just in the outer corners of my eyes (Sephora Fingertip Eyeliner).

On my skin I’m wearing my trusted combination of the Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer and the Morphe Banana Powder, and for blush I went with Crochet from my Sleek Blush By 3 Lace Blush Palette. And on my lips is the Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Nude Beach, a subtle peachy nude that balances out the heavy eye look.

Make-Up Look | Golden Brown Smokey Eyes + Pink Lips

Time for another FOTD! For today’s make-up look I went with a golden brown smokey eye paired with pink lips. Take a look!

On my eyes I’m wearing a combination of Coastal Scents New Penny (eyelid) and Urban Decay Beware (outer corner of the eye, crease & lash line).  And I kept the rest of the eye look very simple with just some black eye pencil (Lord & Berry Silk Kajal), a coat of black mascara (Maybelline Volum’ Express Colossal Smoky Eyes Mascara) and some thin winged liner (Sephora Fingertip Eyeliner).

On my skin I’m wearing the super duper awesome Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer, set with the equally super duper awesome Morphe Banana Powder. And for blush I decided on Clinique Innocent Peach.

And on my lips I’m wearing the Lipstick Queen Frog Prince Lipstick, a (seemingly) green color-adjusting lipstick that is bound to make heads turn. People definitely do a double take when I bust out this baby in public. “Is she really gonna… Ooooh, I see. Huh. I wonder how that works.” It’s awesome.

Make-Up Look | New Year’s Eve

If there’s one occasion to go all out with make-up it’s New Year’s Eve. Glitter! Sparkle! Falsies! The bigger the better! But not for me. At least not this year. After spending a week in Belgium for Christmas the hubby and I were all partied out and desperate for some alone time, so we decided to stay in and welcome the new year at our place with a home-cooked meal, (lots of) champagne and a festive dessert. And it was perfect!

✿ New Year’s Eve (Instagram @kissandmakeupsbeautyblog) ✿

Since we weren’t going out I had no reason to go all party crazy with my make-up, so I kept it predictable subtle with a matte smokey eye and nude lips.

On my eyes I’m wearing four shades from the Sleek Makeup Ultra Mattes V2 I-Divine Eyeshadow Palette: Maple on the eyelid, Paper Bag in the outer eye corners and crease, Pillow Talk in the inner eye corners and Villan against the lash line. I completed the look with black eye pencil (MAC Kohl Power Eye Pencil in Feline Black), black mascara (Maybelline Volum’ Express Colossal Smokey Eyes Mascara) and a very thin winged liner (Sephora Fingertip Eyeliner).

On my skin I’m wearing my beloved combination of the Kiss Me Sunkiller Super Lasting Base and the Morphe Banana Powder, and for blush I went with Rich Berry from the Smashbox L.A. Lights Blush & Highlight Palette. And for lips I decided to go with the Victoria Beckham Estée Lauder Lipstick in Brazilian Nude.

And, since we’re doing the full breakdown anyway, let’s also have a look at accessories. I’m wearing my favorite choker necklace from Born Pretty** – awesome find, if I do say so myself – together with a brand new pair of silver star earrings, also from Born Pretty**.

1. Green Smokey Eyes

This triple green smokey eye look is probably my favorite make-up look of 2016. I’ve always had a thing for green on the eyes and by combining three of my favorite green eyeshadows I pretty much created the ultimate green smokey eye for me.
