For the spring of 2013 Covergirl is launching a new mascara with the awesomely cool name Lashblast Clump Crusher. The Clump Crusher… I immediately pictured some mean evil super villain in my head. But that’s not what the Clump Crusher is. On the contrary even, if we are to believe Covergirl, then the Clump Crusher is a true super hero. It promises to give 200% more volume, and this without clumping. The secret is in the brush. The curvy shape of it allows you to grab and separate each and every eye lash. I got to try out the new Clump Crusher mascara, and today I am showing you the result. Mighty Melissa versus The Clump Crusher, who will prevail?!

The Clump Crusher?

I am usually not too crazy about these weird ‘’innovative’’ mascara brushes, but I have to admit that I like the brush of the Covergirl Lashblast Clump Crusher mascara. The curved brush really makes it easy to get to all your lashes at once and it easily reaches the outer lashes and even those tiny lashes on the inside. Goodie!

Mascara has to be intensely black for me, and that is what this Covergirl Lashblast Clump Crusher mascara is. The color is deep black and stays like that all day long. Perfect.

I like the result. My lashes are nicely separated and seem to have more volume. But they still look natural. And also very important: no clumps. Now I have to be honest and say that my mascara never really clumps to begin with. Unless I apply multiple layers of it, and I never do that. With multiple layers I mean applying mascara, letting it dry, applying another coat, and so on. I hate that. If I am on the train sitting across a girl that applied her mascara like that, I always feel like asking her why on earth she does that and why she wants to walk around with clumpy mascara like that. Come on, girl, how is that ever a good look? But anyway, in order to really test the Clump Crushing effect of the new Covergirl mascara, I used the technique that I hate so much and I applied several coats of mascara. And lo and behold, no clumps! The Covergirl Lashblast Clump Crusher mascara really does what it promises to do. I am impressed! The Clump Crusher has won and definitely deserves its superhero status.

Review: Dr. Hauschka Body Wash | Dr. Hauschka Duschbalsam | Dr. Hauschka Crème Douche

Klik hier voor de Nederlandse versie.

In May Dr. Hauschka is launching four new body washes and I had the pleasure of trying them all. Yay times four! All four shower gels have different scents and characteristics, so there is definitely one for everyone. Or you can be indecisive like me and love all four of them :-) Let’s have a look and a sniff.

Review (Dr Hauschka Body Wash) (2)

From left to right: Dr. Hauschka Duschbalsam Mandel / Crème Douche Amande – Lavendel Sandelholz / Lavande Bois de Santal – Rosen / Rose – Zitronen Lemongrass / Citron Citronelle

Dr. Hauschka Zitronen Lemongrass Duschbalsam | Dr. Hauschka Crème Douche Citron Citronelle

With its lemon, lemon grass and ginger this body wash stimulates and revitalizes the skin. It reenergizes both body and mind and is perfect to use after physical activity. I am not a big gym bunny, but I do find the citron scent and the refreshing sensation of this body wash very pleasant. I think it’s the perfect shower gel for an early-morning wake-up shower.

Retail price: 17 CHF (about 14 euros)

Dr. Hauschka Lavendel Sandelholz Duschbalsam | Dr. Hauschka Crème Douche Lavande Bois de Santal

The combination of lavender and sandalwood in this shower gel nourishes and softens the skin and helps to create a wonderful moment of relaxation. Like I said, I’m not really a gym bunny, but I am a big stress bunny. As a matter of fact, I am the Flemish Giant* of stress bunnies. The warm floral scent of this Dr. Hauschka shower gel is very pleasant and helps me to relax and unwind a bit.

Retail price: 18 CHF (about 15 euros)

* No clue what that means? Google Flemish Giant Rabbit! :-)

Dr. Hauschka Rosen Duschbalsam | Dr. Hauschka Crème Douche Rose

The Dr. Hauschka Rosen Duschbalsam (or in French the Crème Douche Rose) smells like roses, orange blossoms and carnations and nourishes and pampers the skin. The formula is great for dry and sensitive skin and although my skin is neither of those I absolutely love using this shower gel. I used to say (or think) that I didn’t like roses or the smell of roses all that much, but a few months ago I suddenly changed my mind and now I can’t get enough of rose-scented beauty products like this body wash. And the added hint of vanilla and sandalwood makes me love this shower gel even more.

Retail price: 19 CHF (about 15,50 euros)

Dr. Hauschka Mandel Duschbalsam | Dr. Hauschka Crème Douche Amande

The almond oil in this body wash softens the skin and protects it from drying out. Every day I eat my handful of almonds, so I like almonds both in the kitchen and under the shower. And there is more, because this fourth Dr. Hauschka Body Wash also contains bergamot, ylang ylang, rose, tonka and vanilla. Together these ingredients create an amazing cocktail of scents. I think that of all four shower gels the Mandel or Amande version might just be my favorite!

Retail price: 18 CHF (about 15 euros)

The new Dr. Hauschka Duschbalsam or Crèmes Douche shower gels will be available in Switzerland around mid-May.

Which of these four Dr. Hauschka shower gels would you pick?

Don’t forget to enter my Olaz & Rituals blog birthday giveaway! The giveaway is open until April 17. Good luck!
