A Going-Out Look in Fifteen Minutes

The one reliable evening face — start to finish, no panic required.

A Going-Out Look in Fifteen Minutes

Prep is the whole game. A damp beauty sponge pressed over your existing moisturiser gives skin a smoothed, slightly dewy base before foundation even enters the picture. If your skin behaves, skip the foundation and go straight to a medium-coverage concealer on anything you'd rather not see — blend it outward and call it done.

Build it fast, make it last

For eyes, a single mid-toned matte shadow pressed into the crease (one shade, one brush, ten seconds) does more than a full smoky palette if you're rushing. Follow it with a dark, slightly smudgy liner along the upper lash line — no flick required, just press and smudge with your fingertip. Mascara goes on last, two coats on the top lashes only.

Blush is where a nighttime look separates itself from a daytime one: apply it higher on the cheekbone than you think looks right, closer to the temple. It reads more dramatic in low light and photographs beautifully. Cream or powder both work; the placement matters more than the formula.

Lips: either go bold or keep them glossy — the middle ground tends to disappear under evening lighting. A berry or brick-red lip with blotted-and-reapplied staying power takes roughly ninety seconds and anchors the whole face.

Finish by dusting a little translucent powder through the T-zone only if you tend to shine. Then leave. Fussing past the fifteen-minute mark rarely improves anything — it just costs you time you don't have.
